Patrick Speech and Languages Centre, a social enterprise was established in September 2006 as Special Needs centre designed to assist children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Aspergers Syndrome, Speech and Language problems and other learning disabilities.
The centre commenced operations with 3 children and now caters for over 40 pupils with ages ranging from 3 to 40 years old. The centre is currently equipped with facilities to provide services such as Behaviour, Occupational and Speech, Music as well as
vocational therapy. In addition, Patrick’s has been forefront of increasing awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder in Nigeria.
This is the first of its kind in Nigeria; our Mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals with developmental disability and to help them attain their full potential by maximizing the individual skill of each child.
We have been able to assist many individuals over the years in attaining a better standard of living and we are still doing more.
VISION
A Centre where individuals living with Autism and other related developmental disorders are given opportunities by identifying their needs and supporting their individual strengths using evidence-based methods in achieving their full potentials.
MISSION
- To provide specialized educational services for individuals living with Autism within and outside Nigeria.
- To integrate child(ren) into mainstream schools to become self-confident learners.
- To create awareness and support indigent families with children living with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
- To provide employment opportunities for individuals with Special Needs.
- To create vocational opportunities for special needs people that are struggling with educational challenges.
