CISA stands for Certified Information Systems Auditor. It’s a globally recognized certification for IS audit control, assurance, and security professionals. The certification is issued by ISACA, a nonprofit professional association for IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity professionals.
The CISA certification validates the candidate’s ability to assess vulnerabilities, report on compliance, and institute controls within the enterprise. It’s widely recognized as the leading credential for IS audit control, assurance, and security.
To earn the CISA certification, candidates must pass the CISA examination, adhere to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics, agree to the Continuing Education Policy, and have at least five years of work experience in professional information systems auditing, control, or security.
Please note that work experience must be gained within the 10-year period preceding the application date for certification or within five years from the date of initially passing the examination.
