Purpose

OrcaFlex is the world’s leading package developed by Orcina for the dynamic analysis of offshore marine systems. SMEAO Level 1 & Level 2 is focus on ship mooring lines analysis, components selections, simulations and safety operations management. Simulation analysis is presented using OrcaFlex and focus mainly on Single Point Mooring Calm Bouy Advance OrcaFLEX Coupled Analysis Simulation. Two (2) main method of calm bouy analysis are presented; namely the simple and Discretized.

Training Mode: Online

Description

Mooring system is made up of a mooring line, anchor and connectors, and is used for station keeping of a ship or floating platform in all water depths. A mooring line connects an anchor on the seafloor to a floating structure.

SMEAO Level 1 & Level 2 covers Mooring Configuration, Design Criteria, Mooring of VLCC’s, Mooring Winches & Material Types, Principles Of Mooring Layout, Pattern of Moorings, Supervising Mooring Operations, Safe Working Environment, Safe Fibre Ropes, Flaking Out Mooring Lines, Safe Position Between Mooring Ropes, Safe Line Handling, Safe Mooring, Self Tensioning Winches, Keeping Moorings Taut, Mooring Equipment Ashore, Laser Docking Systems, Single Point Mooring Analysis with OrcaFLEX, FPSO Drift Force, Offset & Critical Damping Calculations while moored with mooring lines in position and more.

SMEAO Level 1 & Level 2 is purely hands on workshop and gives a comprehensive understanding of how to use the OrcaFlex software for calm bouy analysis either using the simple or discretized method.

In these simulation workshop, a CALM buoy is moored by six (6) equally spaced mooring lines. A shuttle tanker is moored to the buoy by a hawser, with fluid transfer through a floating hose. These workshop model are examples of coupled analysis. Simple CALM Buoy simulation method are presented Workshop 1 and Discretized CALM Buoy Simulation in Workshop 2.
